What began as a humble bait shop in 1950 along San Francisco's Central Basin has evolved into one of the city's most cherished waterfront treasures. The Ramp is situated on the water's edge in the sunny "Dogpatch" neighborhood, one of the most historic parts of San Francisco's iconic waterfront.
Over the decades, our well-kept local secret has transformed into a beloved destination for San Franciscans seeking authentic waterfront experiences, delicious food, and vibrant community. In 1984, owner Michael Denman recognized The Ramp's potential as "a one-of-a-kind historic waterfront place" and began expanding both the restaurant and the adjacent boat yard.
